An absolute truth is true, whether or not we agree with it or experience it. If something is relative, then truth is perceived through a person’s experience. “Traditional values have been increasingly abandoned as our culture has moved toward moral relativism….” This means our culture tries to tell us that absolute truths are obsolete and that everything is relative. The Rev. Chip Ingram, a best-selling author, in his book, “Culture Shock,” wrote: Perhaps some of you have noticed, as I have, that in our nation we are going through a cultural shift. This is affecting the morality and Biblical beliefs upon which our society was founded. Christians who stand upon the principles taught in God’s Word, the Bible, are being persecuted. Could it be America is in an internal war? No, not a war fighting with mortar and guns, but a cultural war, challenging our Christian values and religious freedom. Just listening to the news or reading the newspaper reveals attacks upon Christianity, almost daily.
